I’ve never actually seen this technique.

I picked up the NanoVNA a few months back. I figured since I’m making so many antennas I needed a antenna analyzer. I looked at the RigExpert but I just couldn’t bring myself to spend that much money. The NanoVNA is fairly difficult to figure out. I had it for awhile and couldn’t really sortContinue reading “Nano VNA”

Since having comms now is associated with right wing extremists I decided to go full steam ahead!! I purchased the Anytone AT-D578UV for my base radio/man pack radio. This radio is basically the same as the HT program and menu wise so if you already have one of them you will be able to dealContinue reading “Full Team Comms Setup”

If you’re a fan of the Penntek TR-35 or its predecessor, the TR-25, I’ve got some good news for you. John (WA3RNC) announced this morning that he is now taking orders for his latest design: the long-awaited TR-45 Lite (TR-45L). I’ve been helping John Beta test this radio since mid-August. I’ve activated a number ofContinue reading “Introducing the new Penntek TR-45L”

Stubby antennas go against everything you see online. Most people have long antennas running high power. If you don’t care who picks up your signal that’s fine but if you are conscious of your signal emissions you might want to consider the stubby antenna and low power. Smaller antennas degrade your signal making them notContinue reading “Stubby Antennas”

If you are not wanting to get into the HF game you can always get a shortwave receiver with SSB. Personally I feel having a SW receiver and a digital scanner is MANDATORY before having comms. If you don’t have a team/group then all you really need is the SW receiver and the digital scanner.Continue reading “Tecsun PL-880”

I got the XIEGU X6100 the end of last December so its been almost 10 months using it as my portable radio. I have used it in the field multiple times. I have made contact on the Noontime net multiple times on 40 meters from the field. I have left this radio running at myContinue reading “XIEGU X6100 JOURNEY”

I’m in the process of retrofitting all my SMA connectors to BNC connectors. As much swapping antennas as I do it only makes sense. I’ve already got all my scanners and all my Anytone AT-D878UV converted over to BNC. My main reasoning for this is I would rather damage the BNC and easily replace itContinue reading “SMA To BNC Connectors”

I know this is a short notice class but we had an opportunity to run this class again this October. We need a minimum of 4 guys to run this class. This class goes from noon to 21:00 because you NEED to get use to patrolling at night. Guerrillas own the night. You do NOTContinue reading “October 22nd Patrolling 101 Class Rock Springs Wy”

GUOHETEC TBR-119 Professional SDR  I stumbled across this radio. If this radio ACTUALLY does everything they say it does this is a huge jump for Guerrilla Comms!! Description: TBR-119 professional version is designed with a transmitting frequency of 1.5MHz~520MHz. TBR-119 is a multi-purpose vehicle/backpack tactical radio station with all the functions of traditional ones. It supportsContinue reading “GUOHETEC TBR-119 Professional SDR”
