After reading some of the FM 21-75 I looked up a reference FM 21-25 from that FM. This is a great map reading/land navigation manual for the common man! It’s written in a way most EVERYONE can understand. I highly recommend checking both field manuals out. Below is the PDF of FM 21-25. Download it, print it, and read it.
