It probably doesn’t have the DMR module installed. Tech Minds over in England has several youtube videos out on this rig including one on digital modes. You might check him out.
Gee, your an honest guy in your criticisms of this radio. I wrote a comment at the page of NC Scout about the shortcomings of these Chinese “tactical” radio he adores and got slammed for it. He claims to be technically proficient in radio technology, but his defense of these buggy and poorly designed Chinese radios makes me wonder.
Other than the cheap Baofengs and their cousins I will not buy any radio, Chinese or otherwise that lacks product support in my country and has no repair manuals available. Paying $700 or more for a radio that has no competent factory support is unwise IMHO, no matter how “cool” it looks. I would like to see the ARRL Lab test this radio fully and report its true performance characteristics.
Its a shame that ICOM stopped making the IC-7200, or had updated it into a ruggedized SDR design. Perhaps their studies told them the market would not support it. I keep my 7200 warm and active, and in weekly use. And should the TVR-119 be refined into a fully functional radio, with full factory support and repair manuals here in the USA, I would be inclined to buy one.
I try to tell my honest opinions on all the radios I’ve messed with. I find most the Chinese radios are shit haha I’ve had the best luck with the XIEGU X6100 but still had problems with it as well. That Q900 just flat out sux!
I keep my IC-718 running at the house 24/7. I would love to have a 7200 as well.
Why aren’t you happy with it?

Are there any firmware upgrades? Or maybe a factory reset. Bummer if JS8 doesn’t work.
