Anytone AT-D878UV SMS Distance Testing

I decided to test the range of the SMS messaging feature of the Anytone AT-D878UV. I built a 2 meter groundplane for the house and had the AT-D578UV plugged into it. I used the free standing jungle antenna with the AT-D878UV for my field antenna.

5 miles out was as far as I went.
